Give customers an easy way to ask about a product — and manage their questions directly in WordPress.
Missing product information can leave customers unsure about their next step. They may need a clearer image, a price, an estimated delivery time or help choosing the right variation.
WDOnline Product Enquiries for WooCommerce adds an “Ask about this product” button to your product pages. Customers can send a question while viewing the product, and your shop receives the product details together with their message.
Manage enquiries, send formatted replies and offer optional automatic notifications when a product image, price or stock becomes available.
Product questions with the right context
Customers can select one or more topics from the enquiry form:
- Request a product image.
- Ask about delivery time.
- Request a price.
- Request more information.
- Request support.
Selecting several topics lets customers explain everything they need in a single enquiry.
The plugin automatically includes the product name, product link, SKU when available and the selected variation. This gives your team the context needed to answer without first asking which product the customer means.
Show relevant topics for each product
Product rules help you offer questions that match the information currently available:
- Product image: Offer an image request when the product has no image.
- Delivery time: Offer a delivery question when the product is out of stock or allows backorders.
- Price: Offer a price request when no price has been entered. A price of zero counts as an existing price.
- More information and support: Keep these topics available whenever customers need additional help.
You can also make the image, delivery and price topics always available or disable individual topics.
Display the enquiry button across all products or limit it to selected product categories using a picker of your existing WooCommerce categories.
Manage and answer enquiries from WordPress
Keep product questions together in a dedicated dashboard under WD Online → Product Enquiries.
The overview helps your team follow up on customer messages with:
- A menu badge showing the number of new enquiries.
- Statuses for New, Under treatment and Closed.
- Search and filtering.
- Internal notes.
- Outgoing reply history.
- Individual and bulk deletion.
Open an enquiry to see the customer’s message, product details, selected topics and any uploaded photo. Write and send your reply directly from the dashboard, with the option to close the enquiry after sending.
Failed replies remain available for editing and retry, so your team can continue working from the same enquiry.
Formatted emails with your shop’s identity
Use the WordPress editor to create replies with headings, bold text, links, lists, colours and alignment.
Configure a shared email signature, upload or select a shop logo, and adjust the email background, text colour and font size.
Set a default sender name for your shop or enter a different name for an individual reply. The {sender_name} placeholder in your shared signature inserts the appropriate name automatically.
Automatic image, price and stock notifications have their own editable subjects and formatted messages, using the same shared signature, logo and email styling.
Your shop also receives a formatted notification when a new enquiry arrives. Selected question topics appear as a bullet list, making the customer’s request easy to scan.
Let customers include a photo
Some questions are easier to explain with an image.
Enable an optional photo upload so customers can show the item they need help with — for example, a damaged key shell, a spare part or a product they want to identify.
The plugin supports one JPEG, PNG or WebP photo per enquiry, with a configurable maximum size.
Uploaded customer photos are stored privately. Administrators can preview the image, open it and download the original from the enquiry. The photo can also accompany the shop notification as an email attachment when the mail provider supports WordPress’s standard attachment handling.
The website owner can disable photo uploads at any time.
Optional notifications for images, prices and stock
Customers can choose to receive a one-time email about the product update they are waiting for:
- Image notification: Email the customer when the product image is added or changed.
- Price notification: Email the customer when a price is first added.
- Stock notification: Email the customer when the product becomes available and is no longer on backorder.
These choices are optional and unchecked by default. The relevant option appears with the corresponding question topic and product condition.
For variable products, price and stock notifications follow the selected variation.
Saved notification choices and mail status appear in both the shop notification and the enquiry dashboard. Your team can see whether a customer is waiting for an automatic update and whether their other questions still need a personal reply.
Configure the form for your shop
Choose whether customers can enter a telephone number, enable or disable photo uploads, and set a maximum message length.
Adjust the enquiry button’s appearance and choose a supported product-page placement. A shortcode is also available for manual placement.
The form includes built-in spam protection through a honeypot, submission cooldowns and duplicate-request protection. For additional verification, you can enable Google reCAPTCHA v2 or v3.
Privacy and data management
Enquiries, reply history, internal notes and uploaded customer photos are managed privately in WordPress.
The plugin integrates with WordPress’s personal-data export and erasure tools and includes configurable enquiry retention. You can delete records individually, remove several at once or use automatic retention to clear older enquiries.
Help customers get the product information they need, and give your team a clear place to manage every question.
